一、关于法律英语证书（LEC）考试
法律英语证书（Legal English Certificate)全国统一考试，简称“LEC考试”，是由法律英语证书全国统一考试指导委员会依托中国政法大学和北京外国语大学具体组织实施的专业性考试，旨在测试应试者的法律英语语言综合运用能力水平。自 2008 年在全国范围内开考以来，LEC考试弥补了国内法律英语测试的空白，并受到了社会各界的关注。
LEC考试是目前国内唯一的全国性法律英语专业水平考试。该考试充分结合中国外语教育现状和社会需求，科学设置题型和考查内容，成为我国涉外法治专业人才法律英语能力水平的衡量标准。
LEC考试的题型和考查内容与美国律师资格考试（Bar Examination）相近，分为客观题和主观题两大类。题型包括：单选题、案例阅读、法律翻译（英译中+中译英）、法律文书写作。考查内容涵盖了美国主要部门法知识、法律翻译、案例阅读和法律写作，同时又根据法律英语语言的专业性特点以及涉外法务实践需求，设置了法律英语术语、英美法律文化、法律逻辑推理等考查内容。
法律英语证书是衡量涉外法律工作者专业英语水平的权威证明，也是成为赴美攻读法学硕士（LL.M.）的英语水平证明、取得美国律师职业资格的可靠保证。目前，通过LEC考试的考生，申请攻读LL.M.的美国大学有主要有：圣路易斯华盛顿大学、明尼苏达大学、俄亥俄州立大学、华盛顿大学、宾夕法尼亚州立大学、印第安纳大学、缅因大学、佛罗里达国际大学。
二、考试时间、地点及考试形式
考试时间：每年5月和11月的最后一个周六。
考试地点：北京、上海、天津、重庆、广州、武汉、西安、济南、青岛、南京、大连、成都、厦门、兰州、昆明、太原、长沙、郑州、南昌、杭州、石家庄等。
考试形式：LEC考试采用线下集中机考模式。LEC考试分试卷（一）和试卷（二），各需三个小时完成。试卷一为选择题，共100道；试卷二是主观题，包括案例阅读、法律翻译和法律写作三项内容。
三、报考时间和报考条件
报名时间：3月1日-31日，报名5月考试；
9月1日-30日，报名11月考试。
报考条件：LEC考试无特殊报考条件，考生不受年龄、性别、职业、地区、学历等限制，持本人有效身份证件均可报名参加 LEC考试。
四、报名方式
网上报名，登录LEC官网（www.lectest.com）进行注册、报名和缴费。
每位考生统一收取考试费用为880元，单科补考费用为450元。考生可通过报名系统使用微信、支付宝、网上银行等方式在线支付。
五、成绩查询与证书查询
成绩查询：考试成绩将于考试结束60日内公布。
证书查询：考试成绩公布之日起30日后，考生可通过官网中考生服务的“证书查询”系统查询本人的考试证书；成绩合格，方可下载电子证书。
LEC试卷总分200分。主、客观两卷得分分别不低于60分，且总分达130分以上为及格；主、客观两卷得分分别不低于80分，且总分达170分以上为优秀。

2. Components of LEC Exam
The LEC exam is divided into two parts, each with a time limit of three hours, making the total time allowed for the exam six hours. Part One is an objective test that evaluates a candidate’s understanding of American fundamental legal principles and common law concepts in various areas such as American constitutional law, contracts, torts, criminal law and procedure, evidence, property law, etc. Part Two includes three sections: case reading, legal translation and legal writing. These sections test a candidate's ability to summarize a legal case, understand legal systems and concepts in both the source and target languages, and apply legal principles to fact patterns in a series of essay questions.
To pass the LEC exam, candidates must obtain a minimum score of 130 out of a total of 200 points. It is important to note that a minimum score of 60 points on each part is required to pass. Candidates who score 170 or above will be awarded 'passing with honor,' but to receive this distinction, a minimum of 80 points is required on each part.
3. Dates of LEC Exam
The LEC exam is offered biannually, on the last Saturdays of May and November. The exam is administered in over twenty cities across China. There are no age, degree, or professional requirements for taking the exam, but identification is required during registration.
The LEC testing program adheres to current international legal practice standards and provides assurance and readiness for individuals intending to pursue legal studies or employment abroad. Additionally, the LEC exam shares many similarities with the American Bar Exam, making it a valuable tool for candidates preparing for the Bar Exam.
